Accurate setting out and excavation

Foundation work begins with the approved drawings, structural information and the position of the proposed walls or structure. The site is set out carefully before excavation, with attention to levels, nearby services, existing foundations and any restrictions identified by the engineer or building inspector.

Trenches are kept clean and checked before concrete is placed. Where required, reinforcement, steps, service penetrations and changes in depth are incorporated in accordance with the specification and recorded for the next stage of the build.

Working with engineers and building control

Ground conditions can differ from those anticipated on drawings. Where soft spots, made ground, tree influence or existing structures affect the excavation, we communicate the findings promptly so the appropriate technical decision can be made.

We can continue from the concrete foundation into drainage, oversites, blockwork and associated groundwork, reducing the handover gaps that can occur when each early construction stage is managed separately.
