Tarmacing services
A properly constructed tarmac surface provides a clean, durable and cost-effective finish for vehicle and pedestrian areas.
We install and reinstate tarmac surfaces for driveways, private access roads, paths, parking areas and areas disturbed by drainage or utility works. The quality of the finished surface depends heavily on the preparation beneath it.
Our work includes excavation where required, installation and compaction of suitable sub-base materials, formation of falls and edging, followed by the specified tarmac layers. Correct preparation helps prevent rutting, cracking and localised settlement.
Tarmac can be combined with block-paved borders, kerbs, drainage channels and landscaped edges to create a more defined finish. We can also carry out smaller patch repairs and reinstatement after building or service works.
What our tarmacing service can include
Preparing a durable tarmac surface
The existing surface, traffic levels, drainage and finished levels are assessed before excavation. A suitable formation and compacted sub-base are essential because the tarmac layer will only perform as well as the construction beneath it.
Edges, falls and drainage channels are established before the specified tarmac layers are laid and compacted. Particular attention is given to thresholds, utility covers and transitions to existing roads, paving or paths.
New surfaces, repairs and reinstatement
We undertake new driveways, access routes, paths, parking areas and smaller reinstatement works after drainage or utility installations. Tarmac can also be combined with kerbs or block-paved borders for a more defined finish.
A site visit helps establish excavation depth, material quantities, access for machinery and whether existing construction can be retained or requires full replacement.
